header wrap on pipes.... or get em coated

My pipes are all rusty from going to the Dunes and not cleaning them after i guess. Would header wrap increase power at all on a Shee? (It would cover up the shit chrome and rust too) Or should i get them coated?

 

Dont really wanna buy new ones, mine are fine just ugly. Thanks

No you wont see any power increase when wraping the expansion chambers. Half of the hp gain claimed by header wrap companys is due to the fact that they lower the temperature of the air under the hood of automobies. This in turn lowers the intake air temp wich helps the engine make more hp.

 

 

I would just sand blast your pipes then paint them with VHT Flame Proof paint. They make a primar to help the paint stick, it is made especially for exhaust temps. I think up to 1200 or 1500 deg.

Like JB said. sand blast them to get the rust gone or the rust will keep eating away that the pipes. Also people need to remember to start their bikes after a wash to heat the pipes and evap most of the water off the motor. IE less rusting. But I remember that a guy on here did do that header wrap and it destroyed the pipes because it kept the water stayed inside the wrap and sat on the pipes. Best of luck!!!
