bcraw Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 my banshee pipe on the right side is changing colors to a purpleish blue color . Could it be running to hot or what. Just wondering what could cause this . thanks Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 It is from the heat. It could be your running a little lean, or it could be the quality of metal/chrome. Most of the time it is from running lean. What mods are run running and whats your jetting? Quote

bbcmudtruck Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 If its just the right side, do you have an air leak? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Where are you riding, what's the elevation and temp there?? Pull the carbs and list the jets. We can get you very close to what your going to need to run. Quote

Bansh-eman Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Ok you should be right around sea level. So we will be able to get you close, you will be a little on the rich side more than likely, and you will just have to lean it out for your temp. I am assuming your runing stock carbs? Quote

Bansh-eman Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 You should need around a 310 Main, 27.5 pilot, stock needle middle clip, 2.5 turns on the air screw. Get your self a Sync Tool and make sure your cabrs are synced. Inspect the rubber boots on the intakes and look for any dry cracked areas that might indicate a possible air leak. Quote
sheefreak Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 I am curious why you would run a bigger pilot and then almost negate it by running the airscrews 2.5 turns out? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 That's how the stock carbs run good. Every stock setup I have seen run near sea level runs best with the 27.5 pilot. When I had stock carbs on my bike, I attempted to change my pilot out and it wouldn't hardly run. Went back to 27.5 2.5 turns and it was perfect. Quote

I would absolutely agree w/the 27.5, but once you open them up to 2.5 turns, you could have closed them down to 1 turn out w/25 and be about the same spot. But hey, there is more than one way to skin a cat, if it works for you, rock and roll! Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 It's also just a good starting point. He may need to close them off some. But who knows Quote
