i am going thru reat brake pads after about 10 hrs of riding. i have changed the roter thinking that it must be bent. but it is no better with the new roter. then i lifted the rear up and put in in gear the roter does not have a wobble to it. i then noticed that the caliper has a lot of play in it. is there any bushings in the caliper that could be replaced to take out the slop or do i need a different caliper all together.

is the piston in the caliper releasing the pressure fully? if it's keeping even a small amount of pressure on the pads they wont last.

can you turn the axle easily by hand with the rear end lifted?

stock style or roundhouse swinger?

Sounds like something is froze up in the caliper- either the piston or the slider pins. If the slider pins are froze to the caliper it will wear pads even if the piston is free.

I had this same problem
