scuba Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 banshee is missing on left cylinder motor is new bout 10 hours on it been running good.took her out one day ran good shut it off for a few restarted it then the problems came when ur reving in nuetral it runs but still missing.now when you go to take off bike shuts off under power.changed the plugs still the same.so i took it to yamaha and they did a complete test everything is in specs except for the cdi box,coil and plug wires they tested out of specs.carbs are rite jets are fine.if im correct the cdi box sends power to the coil then coil to plug wires and so on.well yamaha is wanting to charge like $871 for parts and labor any help would be great Quote

bansheerage Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Def dont get it fixed by yamaha. They just want your money. You can find a used one in the for sale section right here on the site. There is a way to test the cdi. I just dont know how to do it. You might need 2 people. One to crank while one holds the circuit tester. Also try swapping the plug wires. see if it happens in the other cylinder when switched. Hope this helps some. Quote
