87sheerips Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Guys, I remember a long time ago there was a thread on how to fix F'ed up gas tank threads (where our plastics mount right by the seat) Mine are blown out and I need to either fix the threads or buy a new tank. Please let me know if you have the repair how-to or a gas tank for sale with good threads. Thanks! -JD Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 yeah i need some advice on this too. my screw from the plastic to the gas tank by the seat wouldnt come out, i spun the collar so i had to grind the head off now i dont know what to do lol. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Holyman is the guy who had all the good thread about do it yourself fixes. Something is wrong with the website or something because his old thread is showing board error when you try to click on it. I think you can buy one off of ebay for $30 bucks, thats probably the way to go. Quote

camatv Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 sell your screwed up tank on ebay then get a new one thats in good shape. just tell everyone that the threads are great. i have a few good ole ebay finds ( with screwed threads or busted bolts).. really if you cant get a good pic of the tank bolts dont buy a used one..
