yamaha04 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Thanks for the advice thanks alot guys but im worried about doing something wrong my friend is experienced in this stuff and ill ask him to teach me instead of doing it for me as u suggested btw i still dont get the jets..are they already in my carbs or do i have to buy them ? the jets are already in there. but they are to small. i forget what #'s the stock one are but you should be running like 270's with the toomeys. did you get the pipes used or buy them new. if you bought them new then there should be a jet kit with the pipes and you wont have to buy them. listen i have to tear my bike down to clean it up a bit and if your interested. i will take all kindas of pics of what they look like. and how to change them, also i will take pics of the importan things that you cant forget where they go like cross over tube and what not. let me know if you would be interested. 450god Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 i think a nutles monkey could change the jets. LOL, dude the jets are already in your carbs, losen the clamp connecting the carb to the boot, spin the either way so you can see the bottom of the carb, 4 philips head screws will be there, remove all of them, (righty tighty - lefty loosy) , pull the bowls off, and the main jet is the biggest one in there, change that out to the recommended jet, put bow back on and then screw the screws back in. rotate back, and tighten the clamp back down. Reallly wouldnt take to mechanic, do everything i just said and you will be completely done. Add a filter, then you might have to mess with the pilot, another easy task. Hope this helped! Quote
