hey guys, hope everyone had a good christmas. I got a problem but ill start with what i got. 87 shee with fmf fatties, stock carbs with 25 pilot

220 main and 1.5 turns out on the air screw, no lid uni filter and stock ported reed cages with stock reeds.

everything was stock including the pipes, then i ported the red cages and had too go up too a 270 main. then i took the jugs off and ported them.

ext-188* and 66% width, transfers- 125*. i cleaned up the intake side but did not make anything huge or crazy lookin. when i put it back together i had too put the 220 main in it too get it too run ok could go down too a 210 and see if that would make it any better. so i called kevin and asked him what was up and he said it was because i had the stock pipes on it. so i got the fatties and put them on and it did not change anything. so i called him back and he is at a loss just like i am.

so what im asking is if anyone has any ideas whta it maybe or some stuff too check out. i a guy at work said too try a hotter plug and see what that does. im running a b8es. im about 1000' above sea level and the temp is going from 55-20*f. thanks for the help and happy new year.

if you have pipes and filter you should be around 300 add porting then even bigger mains. it shouldnt be a spark issue if you have new plugs they will be hot enough. check your carbs for debris. see if that helps

With those duration with that pipe on a tight motor,no leaks you should be at a 320 main,27.5 pilot needle one notch on the lean side.Ohm out your plug caps, coil, stator

I'd say stator prob or other as well but just a thought 125 deg of transfer duration is 10 degrees or so more than stock, but the 188 degrees of exhaust is not much. With those numbers I would expect it to run a bit richer than it was at 185/115 or stock. If you had 190-192 degrees of exhaust duration it would be better with the trans raised about 10 deg. That shouldnt be that far off but 188/125 is a pretty low blowdown with lots of trans duration and could give you some short circuiting since the exhaust doesnt have much time to scavenge/escape before the transfers open. Who did the porting?

31.5 degrees blowdown sounds pretty good for mx to me.......remember, that it is ported for the best midrange.....

i did the porting and i wanted a smooth strong mid range it turned out pretty good. i put 300s in today and it did great.

just cant wait too get the stupid tors off. i hate them things.i also want a ste of boysen power reeds as well. im going too put yfz 450 shocks

on it come tax time. do you think there is anything im leaving out aside from a set of nerf bars?

i polished the exauhst and chamferd the port after these pic were taken. what do yaw think about my work.
