3lue by u Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I just bought some used Gnarly's and the guy threw in some boyesen dual tension reeds. Quote
Crazyatvspazz Posted December 13, 2009 Author Report Posted December 13, 2009 do they compliment the gnarlys nice? also WILL SOMEONE PLZ GIV A OPININ ON THE VFORCE V-3's!!!! i thought they were the best reeds you can buy??? Quote
AKheathen Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 they are about the most expensive reed you can buy...........they are a mid to high rpm focoused reed, and have gains over stock even down low, but there are better suited reeds...... Quote
Pasi S. Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 What I have understund the VF3´s are for mid-top end power. I would go with CarbonTech low -reeds with ported stock reed cages. Quote
06specialedition Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I run V-Force 3's on my banshee...I love the more crisp throttle through all of the rpms. But I have heard their more of a top end reed, and I am running a top end pipe so they work out great for me. For FMF's I would think you prob dont need a full cage set up. AK seems to know his stuff, so maybe try what he suggests. Everyone is going have there own opinon on these just like pipes, cool head, oil...etc. Quote
AKheathen Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 well.....mabey someday i'll dishout for some of these carbon tech pedals to try, but i like the way the 2 different boysen pedals shape the power right from idle...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CARBON-TECH-CARBON-FIBER-REEDS-YAMAHA-YFZ350-BANSHEE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1c08e73474QQitemZ120408454260QQptZPersonalQ5fWatercraftQ5fParts ......if you're interested......... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-POWER-REEDS-350-YFZ350-RACING-BOYESEN_W0QQitemZ250533468250QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a54f5585a Quote
Crazyatvspazz Posted December 13, 2009 Author Report Posted December 13, 2009 sounds like vforce reeds arent what iam lookin for... boysen power reeds it is! thanks!! Quote
AKheathen Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 that link there, the guy has a decent deal, and you buy 2 sets when you order with the same shipping.....like >55 total Quote
shanYE west Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 The dual stage reeds are a all around design.. The single stage reeds will focus more on the low-mid since thats what they were designed for.. Most cases the dual stage reeds are the better choice, depending on what your looking to do with them. Also.. keep in mind that the epoxy reeds will not last as long as the carbon reeds when looking at the price. I usually replaced my epoxy reeds every season. I can usually go a lil more then 2 seasons on the carbon reeds. Quote
shanYE west Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Snop has done alot of dyno testing on low-mid setups using both carbon tech reeds and the dual stage boyesen.. Quote
