2strokeshee Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I recently bought a used Banshee that had a twist throttle. I then switched back to the stock thumb throttle which included a new cable, now it wont start. I sprayed some gas in the throats and it sputtered to life. Does anyone know if the cable length could prevent it from getting any gas ? thanks Quote

Does anyone know if the cable length could prevent it from getting any gas ? thanks not sure about cable length -especially since you said when u spray it with gas itll start.maybe if ur slides are too far down, but ive never seen that and dont think thats it at all, maybe someone else can advise on the length.pull ur fuel lines one at a time to make sure gas is flowing through.if not check if it has inline filter that is plugged.if no filter, pull line off petcock.if you have fuel from tank down to carbs, and make sure there is no kink in the hose and that it is connected to carbs.did the bike run before u switched the throttle?if not the needle seats could be stuck.also, check to make sure slides in right carbs as you might have them backwards-cutout faces rear of carb on slide.check choke crossover tube that connects the 2 carbs in between and make sure its connected. Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I would check to make sure you have your carb slides in the right carb. Quote

Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 doesn't it seem that sometimes you don't want to post what the problem was. Like you should have known better but were too anxious. I wanted to ride one winter so I changed my plugs, jumped on my bike and proceed to start it. it didn't want to run too well. But it was cold so I puttsed around the block and it still ran like crap. I was pissed. than my brother reached down and plugged my sparkplug wire back on and ran like a champ. Boy did I feel dumb..
