I have been looking for quite some time now for people who can do a good port job for pretty cheap. And so far I have come across a lot of people who port and polish their stuff right out of their own garage. I have only heard of one case of somebody doing this to a Shee and aparently he had proffesional instructions. I was wondering if any of you have ported your own Shees or not. If so, let me know how you did it. If not, then can you recomend anyone who does a really good job. :D

the best think for anyone to do is find out everything you can about port timings, shapes, aim, width(size)so it all works together to do what you want especialy have the right pipe for your plans with exhaust port timing and blowdown.the cutting part isnt that difficult if you take your time but the tools can get expensive.dont just cut your ports because one guy told you it will be fast, accumulate everything and decide if you think it will work for YOU

Have you guys seen the Ebay auctions for instructions or a CD that will show you how to port your cylinders? It looks like a bit of a scam, but was curious if anyone had ever actually bought one?

I ported mine with a kit I got from race logic. i'm pleased with it. I paid $60 for the kit which consisted of "refrigerator magnets" and detailed instructions. Seemed to work real well.

The race logic porting kit has magnets with the port size cut out. You put it in the cylinder line up with top and scribe the port size with a sharp point. Then port out to the line. Its not radical but a good solid hp gain. Go look at racelogic.com

No I don't think I'll sell them. You never know, I might end up with a different one some day. PM or email me when you get ready to port it though. I'm sure we can work something out to where you can use them though.

Thanks Matrix, I will take you up on that when I need to rebuild. I hope I can get some other cylinders and then port them before a rebuild is necessary.

Edster11, sorry about getting off your subject. I have ported cast iron heads but no aluminum. Porting aluminum is a whole different deal. Go look at this guys web sight www.eric-gorr.com He has lots of information, mostly on the port timing etc. Also go into the old forum and search on porting. I remember several times people going through the whole porting thing.

I have ported several bikes. It is something that you have to take your time with and pay close attention to detail. Think about it before you do it since a mistake could cost you a set of cylinders. Good luck
