So Cal Suspension Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I live in SoCal, and will be running at Glamis for Thanksgiving. I've been a dirt bike guy forever, and just bought this Banshee because I've had recent health issues, and figured 4 wheels would be better than two. I'm swapping out the Paul Turner pipes and silencers for FMF Fatty's and silencers. Pardon my ignorance as I learn, but is it necessary to re jet? It's all stock except for an air filter. Any help would be awesome, THANKS! Quote

98_shee Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 It will most likely need smaller jets. What is your current jetting? A stock bike with fmf's and k&n's should be around 270 main. Quote

So Cal Suspension Posted November 20, 2009 Author Report Posted November 20, 2009 I'll check the jetting today, and see what's in there. YES, I will be getting rid of the Paul Turners. They do have some rust of them, that's why I want to get rid of them. I'll take some pics today and post them, and you can make me an offer. Quote

So Cal Suspension Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 Are those pipes Hi revs or mids? Hi revs. I just pulled them off the bike, as you can see in the pictures, they are rusted, but the silencers are in decent shape. just some rust on the tips. Quote

So Cal Suspension Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 bummer I was looking for mids. Who isn't? If they were mid's i'd be keeping them. Quote
GrMeyer Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 As for the lid, did you keep it on or off? and did you remove the snorkel? Any added holes to the intake. But with a lid off you should be around the 280ish depending on temp and elevation. Also if you have the tors on the carbs I would highly recommend removing them if you are anywhere close to water. Plus it makes for tuning the carbs 10x easier. Quote

Elevation is 335ft. yes three hundred and thirty five. Daytime temps usually 70-80F, night time 40-50F. It's got 270's in there. Should be good, right? I don't have the time or place to do a plug chop. Quote
