Hey guys.

Just got my new 2005 Banshee last Thursday. Having a couple of issues.

Firstly, I think the person who fitted the pipe (FMF Fatty - Powercore 2) is a complete tool due to the fact that the bike pisses oil out of every orifice (where the pipe meets the engine, where the pipe meets the silencer and out of the silencer itself).

Then I have the issue where the bike is completely dead in power for the 1st 5 mins, alot of sucking noises from the airfilter, and a very low sound eminates from the bike (not the usual scream characteristic of a banshee) - eventially comes right... (if i hit the petrol, it sounds like its hitting a rev limiter, but the low sounding rev limiter as i mentioned)

The tard who i got the bike from advised a 24:1 oil ratio, I think it might be running a bit rich? change to 32:1?

The jets have been changed (bigger)... is the bike still not getting enough air?? (the airbox has been drilled accordingly to yamaha's spec)

Please help, don't like seeing my bike so sick :(

well u need to replace the pipe o rings and get some silencer clamps that fit.dead in power for first 5 mins sounds wierd.check to make sure emergency brake plunger not pushed in at lever on handlebars.this will limit the rev and it will not reach any power at all.if somebody cut it make sure its not tied together.i just cut mine clean and heat shrink tubed it to get rid of e-brake crapp.if thats not the case, try running your airscrews out to lean the pilots.maybe its fat.y did you rejet it????what jets did you put in and what ones did you replace??yamaha recommends 24:1-but run 32:1 klotz.check plugs, what do they look like?

Check everything that he said but you know that you should not even try to rev it until it is fully warmed up or you run a risk of cold seizing it or doing more damage to the motor than you would think, they take a little while to warm up, just feel your pipes or head, when there very warm your good. How does it run when warmed up?

When it warms up, its insanely sif! :) Love it. Need to clean the carbs tho, I think she'll run sweet after this, spoke to a buddy yesterday, he said the rings that seal the exhaust are completely gone so need new ones. Am i wrong in saying that after modifications you would need a bigger jet??? Just have an issue when pulling off, i have to give alot of gas to pull off, is this normal? Had a blaster before this so it was quite different...

yes you do need to jet with mods-i figured the dude had jetted it when pipes were put on to prevent burning the motor up.you can clean ur carbs-it doesnt hurt but a dirty carb isnt going to make it not run right for 5 mins then just run right!i agree-i think that you just didnt have it warmed up yet.dont go by pipe-feel the jugs as its running.when it gets warm you can start ripping.dont rip when its cold!you can sieze a piston as it will expand faster that the sleeve in the jug and lock up on u.i would say u might actually need more fuel on the bottom.aftermarket pipes like at least a 27.5 pilot.with ur airbox drilled u should prob be at a 270ish main depending on location.i was 500 ft,had an open air box and fmfs and had a 290 main.mess with pilot screws as you might not have to change.read sticky in jetting forum on that.make sure to check plugs and eventually do a chop for perfect results.

What are ALL of your mods, elevation, temps and rider weight?

Start there.

You shouldn't rev it out when it first starts. But it is liquid cooled, a blip of the throttle here and there to circulate water is fine, notice I said blip.
