Got stock carbs with 300 main jets and 27.5 pilot jet, with needle set in middle. got t5s pips and exhaust, noss head 21cc, and ported to 65. timing plate set to +4. Would this setup with the jets work fine or do i need to change them. I do live in San Antonio Tx humid most of the time. And why does one pipe get hotter quicker than the other side, and more smoke seems to be blowing out one pipe more than the other. could this be that the carbs arent sync. Both cylinders in the carbs move up and down exactly as for my air flow to fuel dont know what to set that air screw on. I order an carb sync tool and new o-ring seal kit for the heads. Any info would help me out alot, thanks.

I would think 300 mains would be close but the only way to know for sure is to do a plug chop, there is no other way around it. Set your air screw 1 1/2 turns out to start with and work from there with your needle. It doesnt matter how close your slides look, you cant get them perfectly in sync without the tool because one cylinder may be drawing more than the other.

What does ported to 65 mean?

Are you running pods or airbox with/without lid and what is your elevation?

I would say that on a ported motor with an open airbox close to sealevel you are lean on the main jet.

I figured he meant bored to 65 mm.

I was running +4, open airbox, 21's, PC's, 280 mains at 1400 ft and it was right on at 80-100 degrees

i got k&n pods and 650 above sea level. temp is 70 to 75 consistant.
