theoriginal87 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 lol thats nothin i ordered soem carbs and the guy i got them from had broken the tap off in the carb and put epoxy over it... wtf right... burnt out 4 titanium drill bits and got no where eventually had to beat it out with a big ass hammer and punch... broke two steel punches but i got it out! but in your case it should be easy just get a small drill bit and drill a hole in the middle of the screw and you shouls be able to get an extractor bit from any harware store and use that to get it out just soak it in wd40 and it should come right out Quote
GNR101 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 i would use a drill bit if u have blunt drill bit thats even better. clamp your carb then use a SLOW speed on a drill.. or if u have a removeable chuck on ur drill take it off then push with a little force and drill into the plastic. and because its plastic and not jammed in there it should grab and thread all the way through to the inside of the carb where u can just pull it out (make sure u dont use a big drillbit where ull take out the threads) if that dont work u can use an ezy out (bolt extractor) if that dont work drill it to the size of the hole and pick out the threads or tap it through.. then call jeff at F.A.S.T and get some brass idle screws Quote

theoriginal87 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 im tellin u u just need to drill a small hole in it and use a bit like this to get it out u can get them pretty much anywhere.. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/ProductDisplay?partNumber=00966197000P&storeId=10153&sName=Taps+&psid=FROOGLE01&vName=Tools&cName=Auto&catalogId=12605&sid=IDx20070921x00003a that way nothing stupid can happen like messing up the threads but that just my 2 cents.. volcrano Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 i know about screw extractors-thing is i dont know if that 1/8 is gonna be small enough.i dont wanna drill a 1/8 hole, for fear of hitting the threads.i might pick one up after work tho since theyre $2.19 lol.thanks for the link bro!! volcrano Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Posted October 29, 2009 well-the screw extractor split the inside and outside of the carb.so i actually had a tear run down my face.i fucked up a brand new carb that ran literally for 3 minutes.im going to the bar...and still have no banshee to ride for the 6th week as it took 4 weeks to get carbs i destroyed in 5 minutes.nice.thanks for the input tho guys-guess lately im meant to get ass pounded.
