seabass Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Last night we went riding. I tried crossing some railroad tracks and got jammed up on them. After I pulled my bike off, I noticed I had a hard time finding neutral and then finding other gears. I have RZ forks, drums and a modded shift star. My guess is maybe I broke the shift star? Just looking to narrow down where to start my search. Any opinions as to what this problem may be? Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 You may be out of adjustment on the eccentric screw. The spring can wear out and your grabber won't be grabbing the star correctly. Jeff has new springs for $6 bucks if thats the case. Quote
seabass Posted October 22, 2009 Author Report Posted October 22, 2009 Just went outside and wiggled the shifter up and down. There's a ton of free play when I move it up and down. Does this sound like it could be that spring? Thanks. Quote
