banshee lad Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 hi new to this just got 01 banshee .10 over it idles fine but if i gently press the throttle it cuts out! also when im pressing it when i give it full throttle it dosent rev up straight away just stays the same then revs up suddenly.... also i have only had 4stroke in past but it seems to be using alot of gas would this be jets or reeds gone bad any help grateful thanks.... badjetman23 Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 well start with the easy stuff first the big thing on the banshee it to get rid of the TORS thats the big ugly boxes on the top of the carbs. most likly thats the problem do a compression test and make sure your carbs are syncronized also tell us more about your bike pipes air box is it stock or ?? banshee lad Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 I had a bit of a look 2day the carbs are syncrinized but ther is more smoke coming out of the exhaust on the left and the bottom of the carb is all oil/petrol? almost like it is leakin or something! any ideas? Quote
theoriginal87 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 I had a bit of a look 2day the carbs are syncrinized but ther is more smoke coming out of the exhaust on the left and the bottom of the carb is all oil/petrol? almost like it is leakin or something! any ideas? you need to take your carbs off and check your gaskets or just tighten your bowls up and then when you put them back one make sure you check your rubber boots for cracks and make sure everything is really tight and everything gets sealed.. same thing happedned to me turned out i had and air leak and it was smoking more out of one pipe.. also check up by your reed crossover tube (espeshally if you have a boost bottle) because cracks can form there to from the bottle vibrating..
