this past summer I notice my banshee smoking a little more than usual when I am wide open, so I checked compression and it was a little low so I took the topend apart just honed the cylinder, threw some new rings and top end gasket set. I am running a single 35 PWK with stage 4 intake with 185 main, 42 pilot, and 1.5 turn out on the air screw. Compression is real good after fresh topend around 157psi on both cylinders. I am running a Coolhead with 21cc domes. Now I was climbing a hill yesterday and it was pinned for about 10-13 seconds and the cloud of smoke it left behind was just not normal in my eyes, I have owned 2 strokes since I was 7 years old so I understand they are supposed to smoke but not this much. after the day of riding I checked my tranny fluid and coolant and they were both full right where they was before I went out riding. It has done this it seems ever since I put that single carb on. Also there is oil that just runs out the tip of my silencers after I get on it for a certain amount of time. I run Klotz super-techni plate 40:1 ratio as I have always. Any suggestions?

white smoke usually means antifreeze, blue smoke is oil, black smoke is a too rich mixture.

also when riding in cold weather there will be noticable smoke?

It was white/light grey color. I checked antifreeze and tranny oil everything seems great, it dont miss a beat just smokes nad there is oil an oil trail coming out tail pipes. i have been messing with the jets mainly pilot and I might be getting somewhere...

If your dont ride the banshee like its made to. The oil will start to build up. When I ride trails in the summer, I have to give the bike a blow out run and oil will be all over the pipes. But in the dunes I dont have a prob at all because it gets ran at WOT alot of the time burning the oil fully.

But with the color of the smoke being white/gray I would do a leak down like said above.

Also, the pilot will only effect the idle to about 1/4 throttle.

As with all 2 strokes, the pulg will tell the tale......What does the plug look like??

If it's nice and clean, I'd bet you have a bad head gasket, or it's super lean. But if it was super lean, you wouldn't have a lot of smoke.

If it's black and nasty looking, it's rich.

If it's a nice dark brown, your safe rich, the lighter the brown, the leaner your running. On the money will be the color of a roasted peanut.

Why do people never check the plugs??
