toddyfresh Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 My banshee blew a clutch and my buddy has a stock basket and clutch thats good from an 02.. i know its a used clutch but im just gonna use it wednesday and thursday when we go riding and put a new barnett in when i get home as it is ordered.. I removed the crank gear and basket just to clean out the case to make sure no shavings from the clutches.. I got two questions.. one is can i just put the gears back on any way meaning that they dont line up with anything? and question 2 is how do i go about lining up the clutchhes for install? thanls Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) Yes nothing to line up with the gears, stick it in and in place and its good to go. You might have to lightly wiggle the basket around to get the gears to line up but thats a given. The clutch steals though have to be staggered all the way around, meaning the lil tab that sticks off each one has to be spaced out all the way around evenly on the basket and inner clutch hub. There should be markings on the top of the inner clutch hub to line them up with. But it's easy to just see how much they should be spaced around when you look at it and put the pack in. Understand? The clymers shows you pics of this and tells you what to do, you should grab one on e-bay for $20 if you don't have one already, it's good to have one around anyways for mostly everything banshee. Have a look at this pic i just made up quick. Sometimes the markings wear off BUT where i put the circles is where you line them up and stagger them around ok? http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c164/savage_420/77YZ250Innerhub.jpg Understand now?
