onjacks Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Well the time has come to split the case on my banshee. Everything was running fine, it's just never been done before. (87) What all should i do while im in their mod related? I plan to do just a .030 wiseco top end, no porting for now. Timing plate +4, K&N filters w/ no box Shiftstar mod, pancake bearing, new clutch. weld crank, new bearings, seals etc. How much should I mill the stock head? All i have now is some fmf's with powercores. Is this all I need to replace for now? Reeds, porting & etc will have to wait. this is a full ground up overhaul. Quote
burhead Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Sounds like you have the exact same setup I have. I went .030 on the head. My only complaint is the pipes. I wish I would have went for something with more bottom end. Mine has gotten better now that the jetting is close to being correct. I use mine for trail riding and I cant see wanting anything faster. onjacks Posted September 30, 2009 Author Report Posted September 30, 2009 Ya, I bought my banshee running, off craigslist for 900 bucks and now its getting a full rebuild. I would like to do the stroker & porting but I'd like to get it bak together before christmas. The fmf's looked like they were dipped in rust but i plan to powdercoat them highheat black until i can get some T-5's. Quote
