banshee_terror_ Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 i dont know how 2 adjust the clutch adjuster. im talking about the one inside the clutch it self... i didnt pay 2 much atention 2 it when i took it off. but i put it a liittle more than snugg. is that good? Quote
Duneman101 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 no, you don't just snug it. there is a little point on the end of the clutch cable arm and a little arrow on the case you have to match those up. adjust your cable on the perch all the way in then then adjust that nut until the little point on the arm and the point on the case line up.... if you have the pancake bearing on the back of the clutch this will be a little different, but if you are all stock thats the way to do it. Mjv420 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Release the locknut and turn the shaft with the phillips head in or out, whichever way you need to go. This adjustment sits center of the pressure plate. Quote

Duneman101 Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 yah no crap. but were should i put the screw. should i turn it so that its tight against the clutch boss? for god's sake don't ask a question if you won't read the answers... you need to adjust that screw till the point on the clutch cable arm and the point on the case match... it's not that difficult, if you put the screw in all the way and it doesn't match tighten up that lock nut and use the cable adjustment on the perch to get the rest of the way. FrankieSquid Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 LOL damn Duneman. Well its not a pretty hard thing to do. It threw me off when i first did it and i explained it to a lot of people so i feel both of your frustrations. Well on the clutch its self there a nut with a phillips adjuster on there okay now thats gonna be one of your adjusters There other will be on your handles bars too. Duneman could of made it any clearer. Pay close attention to the other side of your engine theres a tab on your end of the clutch cable with a arrow. When you adjustment is on point that arrow point will match up to the casing. The manual helped me out a lot. Check it out bro Quote
P.C Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Do you or do you not have a pancake bearing installed? Directions will vary depending if you have this installed or not. If you do not have it then follow the directions in the manual. Download the fucker if you dont have one. If you do have the p-bearing then follow this: -remove tension on cable at clutch lever -remove bolts and springs holding pressure plate on, but do not remove pressure plate -loosen lock nut on clutch rod -use phillips screwdriver to turn the rod into the motor until it just makes contact (put your finger on the pressure plate and you'll feel movement when contact is made) -once contact is made, back off 1/8-1/4 turn and tighten the lock nut. Dont forget the red loctite. You're done. Put the sucka back together, adjust the clutch play at the lever and get after it!!!! Edited September 29, 2009 by P.C Quote
