MRMOONEY Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I was wondering if those clear radiator hoses are a good idea, i think they would be so you can see fluid moving in the system. Where would i find some? will just any hose work from say like lowes or home depot or so i need something special? thanks guys Quote

I just used regular hose like you are talking about and it works fine as long as you figure out how to get the hose from the pump to the radiator without getting too close to the pipes or something to reflect the heat. tundish2800 Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I run the ones from lowes with the thread threw them. I run them the same way as the stock hoses. You just can't have a lot of slack in the of they will hit your pipes. I have cpi inframes right now and the hoses did not hit my pipes once. I change them every year its only 5 or 6 bucks to change them. The clear hoses that they make for the banshee move around alot. the hose from lowes is alot stiffer than the other ones. When you put it on dip it in real hot water and they will slide right on. Quote
jbooker82 Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 That hose isnt rated for that type of heat. If you really want to know if the coolant is circulating get a temp gauge. Quote

tundish2800 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) I know they are not rated for that kind of heat. Thats why i change them every year just to be safe. I just drag race so i dont have mine running for a long time Edited September 20, 2009 by tundish2800 Quote
rusty1100 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 can you post a pic of how you routed yours? any idea what sizes the hoses are? I was going to post my pics, but the only ones i had did'nt have the pipes on and I have it tore down right now so I cant take any pics to help. Im not sure what size they are, its been too long to remember. I would just take the stock ones up there to compare. I always keep mine with me also if I go along ways off just in case. But I bring every tool and fluid that I would posibbly need also. That hose isnt rated for that type of heat. If you really want to know if the coolant is circulating get a temp gauge. I know there not rated for the heat, but they work. I do nothing but trail ride and they hold up just fine. Im not going to lie, I just like the way they look. Quote
