bansheesandrider Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 340s seem awful big to me for this combo. If the plugs are black, you are either mixing to much oil with your gas, or more likely, you are running rich. Start decreasing you main jet one step at a time and doing a plug chop till the plugs are tan in color. Good Luck. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 If you have a filter in the factory air box, I agree...340 is too big. however, if you have Pods...that's about right. By any chance, is it the right side plug moreso than the left side? Black plugs on the right side mean a crank seal is leaking and you're sucking tranny fluid into the combustion chamber... These two strokers don't like tranny/gear fluid... Quote
350banshee Posted August 30, 2009 Author Report Posted August 30, 2009 yeah it sounds like its the left side at idle cause when i rev it and let it come back down to idle the left side carb really sounds like its sucking air big time. ive hade some problems with gaer oil getting in too but ive pulled it apart 4 times now cause thats what i thought it was all along.changed all seals but still the same. tried 320 mains go's good but still does same thing, its good when i get it past the idle stage.
