has anyone switched between the two? I would think that either one would have there advantages in certain areas of the motors power range. be that as it may. would an out of frame drag pipe perform better than an in frame drag pipe?

I've heard around 3hp from cpi inframes to cpi out of frames... unless your strickly drag strip they would be a pain to ride with though.. easy to smack of things and dent up..

OOFs are cheaper, lighter, and make things easier to work on. Even if the power is identical (I don't really know), i'd go for OOFs every time.

I noticed on the fast website it claims 7hp gain over inframe shears vs oof shears,so I was wondering the same question.

I think that is the "new" OOF shearers. I don't know what they did to them, but there are claims they make significant power over the "old" OOF shearers also. I've got the old ones, and some RDZs. I like them both.

I just went to OOF shearers from InFrames and my builder told me to expect 5-7 hp, but the OOF are supposed to rev out higher as well as make more torque, so they come on quicker. That is just how he explained the advantages of going to the OOF to dumb ol me!! KISS Keep It Simple Stupid!!! He thought a couple lengths difference if set up right, over my old set up!!

Get the oofs go big from the begining Dont waste your time with inframes if its strictly drag bike. I bought some inframes and now i want oofs. easier to work on the bike and to keep clean

Thanks for your response.I have inframe shears now and i'm thinking of changing out to th oof's. The silencers are only $40.00 more, does anybody have a pic of what they look like? thanks Jeff

I just custom ordered a set with the silencers made into the pipe, versus them having a flange!! I personally think they look way cleaner that way!! Just my .02!! Matt said he didnt like doing them that way, but he said he would.
