quinnsta99 Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 I have a 2002 Banshee that has normally been shop serviced about 2 times per year all of its life. They did all the tune ups and fluid changes. I have a couple of general maitenence questions. Oil- Weight and how much. I seem to remember 10-30 no API or something like that. Also on my dirtbike the thumper forums talk alot about using Shell Rotella instead of the more expensive yamalube. Also i have V-Force reeds on the bike, how long do those last, and what needs to be done if anything to check them? Any other things to check on? Thanks, Ryan Quote
quinnsta99 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Report Posted July 28, 2009 bump.... Anyone have anything? Quote
Ruko Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 10w/30 is what it calls for. I change mine out once a year, every spring, but it will depend on how much riding you do. I've never used Yamalube or Rotella so I can't really say. When the V-Force reeds start to wear out the edges will begin to fray. It takes quite a while, mine are 5 years old and still going strong. A buddy of mine had his fray though so it does happen. No idea how old his were since they were in the quad when he bought it. Quote
