I'm kinda new to the whole 4 stroke world as I ride a Banshee and have always worked on them. I bought my Wife a YFZ450 and it seems to run pretty good with the current jetting but I just want to see what the someone with some experience thinks. The only thing it's got is a LRD slip on. The lid is still on (has vents installed in it) and it has a stock style uni foam filter. What do you think my jetting should be at? We're in Ohio where the elevation is about 800 feet above sea level. Temps in the 70s and 80s.

Current jetting is a 162 Main and 42 pilot and needle clip is in the middle position (NDSR needle.)

Also, If I were to remove the lid, what adjustments would I need to do? Thanks guys for the help!

I know one of the first things you should get is a air ajustment srew extender. YFZs can be very tricky on jetting and the stock air screw is a pain to adjust.

42-45 pilot 4th clip on the nvcq needle and 175 main for mine with cam mod and open box with full yoshi exhaust.

your close with your jetting.

I agrree with wes. If anything, you may be a tad rich with the lid on. Take the lid off and you'll need a 170+ main jet. I'd get the ncvq needle (stock YZ needle) (2nd or 3rd clip from top) as well and do the cam mod. That's all you need on the yfzs.
