A bunch of folks from 3wheelerworld are heading up to the Forest on Saturday. If anyone from here can join us that would be awesome, Weather is suppose to be nice and should be a great time.

Copied from the walls of 3wheelerworld :

Where and When?

We are meeting at the Ganaraska Forest's P2 parking lot off Boundary Rd. at 10am Saturday June 27th. Here is a map with directions to the location: http://www.ragefaction.info/images/p...anaraska/3.jpg

Try to be there no later than 10am so that we can roll out and start riding by 10:30. We will circle back to the P2 parking lot for lunch (12:30-1:30pm) so anyone arriving late can meet us back at the P2 parking lot at that time.

What is required to ride?

The Ganaraska Forest requires all ORV's to be plated and insured. In addidtion, a day-pass is required ($20) for each rider (unless you have a yearly pass which is $100). Please remember to bring all paperwork as the O.P.P. and Ganaraska Forest Rangers do patrol the area. When purchasing your day-pass, you will be issued a parking pass as well. Be sure to leave the pass on your vehicle's dash so that you are not ticketed for illegal parking. Day-passes can be purchased at either the Petro Canada Gas Station or the Ganaraska Leathercraft store show in this map: http://www.ragefaction.info/images/p...anaraska/1.jpg

Off-Road Liability insurance is relatively inexpensive - I pay around $150/year for my ATC and $90 for my dirtbike. If you are having problems finding an inexpensive insurance policy for your ORV I highly recommend giving Darin Easton at the Nicole McCann State Farm Insurance Agency a call (1-866-258-4130). State Farm understands this family hobby and backs it with 100% knowledge and coverage. Darin will go out of his way to make sure that your ORV is covered correctly and the fact that he understands the ORV industry is a huge plus. Darin's agency will provide ORV insurance without demanding that you switch your other policies.

What should I bring?

Shops/stores are few and far between near the Forest, so bring EVERYTHING you need with you. Below is a short list of things to remember!

-WATER

-Food/Snacks for the day - both myself and Rosco will be bringing small portable bbq's, so bring along any food you wish to bbq for lunch. Since we'll be circling back to our vehicles for lunch you can also bring along coolers to keep lunch items nice and chilly.

-Garbage bag. There are no garbage bins in the forest - so bring out what you bring in! Let's keep the forest nice and tidy and free of litter.

-Riding gear. Obviously helmets are mandatory, but it's a good idea to bring other protection as well. Sturdy boots, knee pads, elbow pads, etc. The forest offers some challenging terrain for the adventurous, so dress accordingly!

-Bug spray. Although in my opinion the bug situation isn't that bad, you might be bothered by mosquito's when we take breaks. Bring along repellant if you are prone to mosquito bites

-Towstrap. Not everyone will have one, but as long as we have a couple tow-straps amoung our group we should be ok. Knock on wood no one will run into any problems, but running 25 year old machines requires one to be prepared in case of breakdown!

-Essential toolkit. Bring along a spare spark plug and any essential tools you might require.

-FUEL. Bring along your jerry cans full of fuel - we can re-fuel at lunch.

-Change of clothes. It's ramping up to be a hot day Saturday, so bring along an extra set of clothes for the car ride home... It sucks having to spend a couple hours after a long day's ride in sweaty clothes!

Hope some folks can make it out, what better way to spend a Saturday.
