gemini Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 If I let my bike sit overnight per say, there is a small puddle of oil underneath it. I'm fairly confident it's not coming from the drain plug. The top of the case is wet and it looks like its coming down through that hole behind the cylinders in the middle of the cases. Any ideas? Thanks. Quote
twoody Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 is it just oil or is it your premix? i would check all your fuel line connections, check your carbs and intake make sure all is tight. when i pull my carbs off i actually see a little bit of premix sitting just on the outside of my intake boots. have you also recently oiled your chain? maybe its splattering ontop and the excess is leaking down. thats the only thing i can think of but maybe someone else has an idea where it coming from. yamahaman244 Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 haha.. Maybe you kicker seal i know mine had that it would leak alittle pit of oil Quote
gemini Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 It's crying 'cause you never ride it IMO. prolly true if it were mine. dad's is the one leaking. i think its just oil. i'll check again and report back. thanks for the info. Quote
twoody Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 if it is just oil x2 on the shaft seal, i had to replace mine cause over time it was leaking. but i found out that i needed a new shift shaft, bushing and seal. if its coming from top the only thing i can think of is the clutch actuator on top of case, maybe bad seal. okbeast Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Try drainin all the oil out of it then put the plug back in and see. That'd probably tell you whether it's tranny oil or from the premix. There might be an extra shift shaft seal out there, not sure. Quote
