pr0blumz Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Can someone tell me what I need to do to remove the top bolt out of the stock a-arms. Those are the only bolts I can't remove. Thanks Quote
pr0blumz Posted June 20, 2009 Author Report Posted June 20, 2009 Yeah, maybe I have to heat them up Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 If they are just tight and you can't get the bolt loose from the screw, I like PB blaster to loosen bolts up. But really, anything like wd-40 to just get in there and loosen things up will work. If you can't get it out of the a-arm after the bolt is off, tap it with a screw driver to get it to move through the arm. But watch so the threads don't get squished... Sometimes they can be a bastard if they haven't been off in awhile... Quote
pr0blumz Posted June 20, 2009 Author Report Posted June 20, 2009 I forgot about the ole PB blaster. Frustration had me blind-sided. My bike is a '01 and I'm trying to make it look decent but I don't think it ever will compared to bikes on here. Wll I need a impact wrench to get the nut off the swinger bolt or will I be able to remove the nut after I spray it with PB? Quote
Onesickcrewcab Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 If those upper A arm bolts have never been taken out. You might want to grab a mini sledge cause you might need it. When I took mine apart I destroyed the bolt and had to buy a new one. Word of advice. Use Anti Seize when putting that all back together. PB Blaster works well. Quote
