if this is true, then why do people get the standard overide where you can NOT down shift?

if they both work the same on the upshifts then seems like the duneO/R would be the only seller.

I think is just that alot of people use the overide trannys for draging and they dont have to shift down for that and they are cheaper to buy I think the one im looking for is like 600 plus$

It really has nothing to do with down shifting.. The standard overides can't be backloaded while the duneables can be to a extent..

A few good examples of back loading would be letting off the gas after a full throttle run and not pulling in the clutch and the using the engine to slow you down. thats backloading the trans. Or when you down shift and let the clutch out and us the engine for braking.. thats backloading

ok so basicly when doing high HP motors on these you dont really even want to shift down at all because somthing in the trans doesnt want to line up? what is the best way to get a banshee trany to hold up to some abuse like down shifting and just playing around on it?

thats a little closer to what I want but I could of swore I saw somone talking about one on here

It's not that things are not lined up, it's that backloading the trans. can make the basic concept of the override work in reverse, which will essentially lock the trans. up or bend a shift fork.

A duneable trans. has springs preloading the forks and a couple other minor details that help prevent the above from happening. If you put enough back torque through it, you can overcome the springs and still have the problem notes above.

so if you have 110 HP to the ground just dont try to shift down basicly unless you are willing to spend lots of money doing research building one? but ya that makes a little more sence to me atleast I was hoping to find a tranny that would be for drag and when you wanted it to be for play

I have a 1-4,m5th/6th ,It shifts well through all gears,I still feel like I cant backload mine much but it might be in my head.I got used to it real quick.I rock it on the street all the time downshifting is fine i just gas it into a lower gear instead of letting it backload.A little getting used to but well worth it
