NEW 09 BANSHEE?

Here is my question: Has anyone on here bought a new banshee after they were banned in the us? I know they are still sold in various other countries. I was doing some digging and found I could have one shipped through a 3rd party for about 5200usd after all taxes. I would present cash when unit arrived. Of course it will be a non us unit but I live in the south not cali. What experience have you all had? I'm not jumping on this till I dig deeper. Thanks

im going to get flamed incredibly bad for saying this, but i wouldnt buy a new one,

first of all, you can find a clean one with thousands of dollars worth of mods on it for 3k at the most

second of all, you could get a 450 for that price

A- I own a 450r and in my own opinion it doesnt hold a candle to the banshee. It is uncomfortable to ride for long periods, I mainly ride asphalt (i know wut you thinkin) and the speed the banshee cruises at keeps the 450r screaming, The only place the r is better is in the woods. But I don't ride woods that much. Plus the r will leave on hell of a knot and blood on your shin.

B. When buying used you are likely getting some elses problem. Not always but most of the time

That's not saying much, I own both and I will tell you first hand the 450 NOT superior to a Banshee. As for the Banshee, they are not banned in the US. They no longer sell them in the US due to the EPA and emissions, but by no means are they banned. If you want a new one then I say go for it. I don't see you having any problems importing one. There's no feeling like buying one brand new. I bought my first one brand new and it's a good feeling.

Maybe banned was the wrong word. i agree on the 450 not having superiority!!! I just didn't know the issues I may have getting it here. I have a cousin in Germany that could purchase it for me and ship it. Are they still available in Canada?

$5200 to your door for a new banshee is a good deal. Like you said, if you can work it so you don't pay for anything until it's physically at your door!

If I go through my relative in GER it will be a little more but I would feel safer. IDK what to do really. That's why I was asking if anyone here has done that or know someone who has.
