What is involved into switching over from stock carbs to methanol? Can stock carbes be converted or do they not allow enough flow? I have 18cc chambers with 175psi compression. Is this ok for methanol? It also has a dune/drag full port job if that matters. Or is the power increase even worth it?

They can be converted and will work and will give you a power increase. But they will definately not be optimal for your setup. If you decide to convert them, I would start w/drilling the dump tubes at .120 and run the main to start at .120. You will prolly be rich, but that is where you wanna start. You will also want to start w/a large pilot. You may want to ask Fouledout421. He had a set of stockers converted that him or his brother in law ran, he may even still have them. He may sell them, but if not, will be able to set you up.

You may not be able to contact him till after the weekend, he is at a race.

Don't waste your time with stock carbs on meth. Get a bigger carb and you will thank yourself in the end.

What's your elevation? Do you have a pingel fuel valve? Drilled your gas cap yet? Depending on what your elevation is you might not want to go all the way to .120 on your mains and dumps. .120 dumps at my altitude give you a shitty signal. We go smaller, like .116. It all depends on elevation though.

Also keep in mind that your mileage will get cut in half since you are flowing close to twice the amount of fuel into the engine. If you dune ride or trail ride its not very practical unless you have some sort of high volume fuel supply system like an IMS tank or remove tank. Keep in mind that you will need to purge your bike after you're done riding for the day as well.

Your compression is in a good range for meth. What's yoru timing at?

I'm at sealevel (south mississippi) and 4 degrees of timing. I only run it on asphalt for short periods of time.

When i first built my 7 mil i used stock carbs converted to alky and my bike ripped. it a very cheap optionand it works, bigger carbs are better but they are also alot of money. you will go through a lot more fuel and oil (mix 20:1) but if you ask me its well worth it. And I would run the timing around +8

can you tell me the mods you did on the stockers. My motor is a stage 4 trinity with a drag port, I stand correct my compression when measured hot is 215psi. Kinda high I think. Stock length rods (hot rods and crank). Thats pretty much it in a nut shell
