sheeban Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I was installing my adjutible stator plate when i found my stator is rusty. It worked fine before hand but i am a littel worried about, the plastic coating that mounts the wires is a littel cracked and one of them wiggles a little but they are still attached fine. Does any body thing it will be ok or should i bite the bullet and buy new. Quote
Bill Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 My stator is off a 89 and it is lookin pretty shitty too, but it passed the ohm tests. I just cleaned up the ends with fine sand paper and slapped her in, works great. Quote
Misssppelllleddd Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 My '87 stator looked like shit too before it went out about 6 years ago. So the stock stators are pretty tough. But if one of the coils is lose then I would bite the bullet and get a new one. It would really suck if you got stranded far from parking lot at a park with a good day to ride. But thats just me.
