joee20002 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 whats the pros and cons on a billet 10 mil crank? is it worth the money? Quote
2001Stroker Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I asked the same question when I was building my motor. Here's the answer I got. If you're straight up dragging, then go with the billet. The billet is a little less weight, and you can get tighter tolerances with them. Again, that's what I was told by one of the full-time drag racers on here. I got a smoking deal on a billet crank that was brand new, so I couldn't pass on it. Otherwise I would've got a cast crank. Quote
STINKYDELUXE Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I'm running a cast vito's crank with a hevy duty bearing, with no problems Quote

locogato11283 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 i run a forged. couple years ago it separated.. i had it rebuilt. if i were to buy a new one, id prolly go billet.. Quote
shanYE west Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 lots of guys running the cast 10mils with no problems.. actually seen a few more problems with the billets.. But i'm sure it was just coincidence.. Quote
sheefreak Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 One thing I would research that I have noticed people complaining about is the flywheel getting seized to the billets. I do not run a billet and have no experience w/this problem, but have seen others w/this issue. Some are lapping the crank before installing....you might do some searching and asking around. Quote
