wacko2000 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Im having shifting problems, and i was going to send my tranny to Herr Jugs for him yo do some tranny mods Something about cutting the dog ears or something I was wondering if anyone has had this done and if it helped there problem or not. I do alot of trail riding and trying to leave a override as last resort. So whats the scoup on these tranny mods, do they work or what? thanks Quote
BigRed350x Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Cut every other dog off the trans gears, shift star mod, roller bearing from cascade with the stock roller spring... Just those things will get you a pretty good trans. There are some other mods you can do, but try that out first and see how it does for you. I ran basically that setup on a 10mil cub and didn't have any trouble shifting. - jared Quote

I havent heard of many people with tranny mods, seems like people go from stock trannys to overrides and thats all. I was hoping some guys that have had it done from HJR would chime in here. What is the roller bearing and roller spring? Quote

Keep in mind, Jared has two 10mil's to talk about.................. The cub is probably more relevant to this thread. The Twister pretty much has everything under the sun done to the trans. :geek: Quote

Every other dog cut off and every other webbing removed. Bearing on the shift drum and bearings on both ends of the shift shaft. Shifts pretty well with my 4mil. Nothing like an override but I don't have to worry about backloading the trans either. Doesn't miss shift very often and I can't shift under load. SP Quote

Cascade is also a pretty big name in the trans. mod game. Roller bearing: http://67.199.65.66/cascade_innovations/ne...ore_dept_id=165 Quote

KEVSWS6 Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 No, what spurdy is saying is his shifts fine and has a lockout but its no override. I did port his motor but the trans work was already done. Dont worry your in good hands. Quote
