OKO 28mm Install Help

i am new to the Banshee scene. Started a build in the winter, and she's just about ready. We took her out last weekend, and since we have had problems with my stock carbs from the beginning, i decided to order some 28mm OKOs. they got here, and now I'm stuck. I can put a pair of stock carbs back together with no problem, but these are a tad bit different.

 

I have asked this before, but you CAN use the stock throttle cable with 28mm Keihins or OKOs, correct?

 

Does anyone have any documentation on how the hell to install these? Pics? Manufacturer instructions? Anything?

that looks like the right cable, did you have TORS removed from your stock carbs?

 

You slide the top cap onto the cable then run the cable end through the spring. Bunch the spring up and then slide the cable end through the plastic stopper piece. The little metal piece on your cable goes into the bottom of the carb and then the plastic piece slides down to hold it in place. Its hard to explain but you have to be able to figure it out once you start doing it.

 

 

also go to keihin site, cause those carbs are about the same as the 28pwk they make. they should have a schematic.

yeah i had the tors removed on my stockers. But holy shit, if that cable has to go to the bottom of the carb, i don't know that i have enough slack in the line. I think i was on the right track, but have no idea where it goes from the bottom of the white plastic piece. I'll check Keihin's website. thanks for the response.

In the picture of the top of the slide, looking at the center there is a slot in the left side of it and the cable rests up against it and should hook into the bottom of that part. That is how my pwk 35 is anyway.

yeah, my dumb ass figured it out. we had cut all the slack out of the throttle cable with the adjustment on the handle bars. so i gave it all the slack i could, and got it hooked up. Havent' started it yet, as it got too late to continue the project. but will continue on tomorrow. Thanks for your help guys!
