pipewelder Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 My pipes leak at the flange on the motor what can i do to fix this.Is there orings or something that goes there. Quote
donkeypuncher Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 the o-rings inside your pipes are probly worn, or you dont have any period. right inside of the pipe there is a groove where an o-ring should be, if they are warn replace them. also, some people run an extra o-ring between the pipes and cylinders for a little better seal. rtcc Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 What year are your pipes? My are the older edition and they have no place for an oring to sit in the flange. I use the orange RTV that is made for high high heat and put a bead in the flange before installing. Its the RTV with copper in it. It does a pretty good job. Quote

tundish2800 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I had that same problem i just put an oring on the cylinder and it worked good Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I have an old PT pipe on my ATC-R and I run a bead of copper RTV around the flange before pushing the pipe on. I have never had any problems with an exhaust leak (the stock honda flange is notorious for leaking). The o-ring or RTV on the flanges will probably do the trick. Quote
boneyardbanshee. Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Yep have the same problem. Love the pipes, HATE the fit. Quote
