Key elimination

Has anyone eliminated the key mechanism on their handlebars. I would like to get rid of it to clean up the appearance and maybe install a good tether kill switch. Any sugestions on the removal process and makes and models of a good thether kill switch?

either vitos or pro armour make very good tether setups... i installed mine by just unhooking the key and splicing the tether setup to the wires that once were connected to the key

Tether's are about $15 to $20, new. Here's a copy of my wiring diagram. You can see how to wire the tether where the original kill switch wires are. All the TORS is cut out, too. To get rid of the key switch, just solder and heat shrink the Black/White and Black/Red wires together.

if you are just looking to clean up the bars modquad makes a metal bracket to relocate your key under the seat. Or you can build one out of alum like I did then just give it a good polish.
