bansheeqc Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) I check my squish clearance on my two stock cylinder dragger. i check my squish clearance with a tin file. On my stock stroke one, i'm about 0,47 with standard 18cc and 0,10 base gasket. On my 4mill one, i'm about 0,67 with 0,10 base gasket. I run cut dome without spacer plate. I think this big squish hurt my 4 mill engine alot. I have a lot of problem to jetting them, i'm actually at 175 main jet on my keihin 36mm pwk. I'm at 200 feet elevation. I run vp c12 1/3 with 2/3 premium, with nitrom Edited May 17, 2009 by bansheeqc Quote
trex banshee Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 yes that squish is very high, but i have no idea how a motor that is goin to be runnin nitro is setup. I would think it would be a bigger squish but not sure if it needs to be that high. Who is your engine builder? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 It's all going to depend on your setup. Different builders like different amounts of squish depending on the piston your running. Plus gas and alky are different. K&T told me to run as close to 36 as possible. I want to say that when I got everything back together I was sitting at 40? Some guys are all the way out to 52. So it's all about what your builder likes for his specific setup. You might give them a call and get their advice. To my knowledge there aren't any members on here that run nitro, but I could be wrong. Quote
sleeper06 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 My squish is .050 jetting is spot on.In my past experiance with nitro it needed big jets,so big that the tubes needed to be drilled, the more fuel i gave it the better it ran, ruined 35mm pwks tho Quote
