GrMeyer Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 umm we are going to need more info then (woof)..like mods...elevation jetting and when was the last time you synced the carbs? and where in the RPM the (woof ) happens Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 Definately need more info. What the hell is a woof sound anyways? I've never had that. Only the baaa-no-packing-goat lol. Quote
blu01shee Posted May 15, 2009 Author Report Posted May 15, 2009 Definately need more info. What the hell is a woof sound anyways? I've never had that. Only the baaa-no-packing-goat lol. It was doing it when i got it and since then i have rebuilt it with different cylinders, new reeds, shaved head, reed spacers, boost bottle and cleaned the carbs and sync em repact the exhaust cleaned inspected the intake boots all new gaskets. I went .20 over vitos carbon fiber reeds fmf gold series exhaust with 200 or 210 mains but the noise happens after you pretty much get it warm and its like a woof or a puff its hard to explain and even harder to figure out but it does it kinda mid rpm and low rpm only on acceleration but any help would be cool Quote
GrMeyer Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 is it missing? what fuel are you running? when was the last time the plugs where changed or looked at...and what kind of intake are you running...it better be with the stock intake with the lid on if you running 210 mains... Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 Could also be described as a "pop" or chop sound instead of a woof? If you did all that work yourself, I'd hate to point out the obvious, but have you looked at the slides at all? Quote
Rodneya Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 With 210 mains and fattys you must be running lean. Are you sure the noise is from the pipes and not the motor boiling Quote
blu01shee Posted May 16, 2009 Author Report Posted May 16, 2009 is it missing? what fuel are you running? when was the last time the plugs where changed or looked at...and what kind of intake are you running...it better be with the stock intake with the lid on if you running 210 mains... its not missing its running good and smooth i am running high test gas with yamalube 2 cycle oil and i did polish the the slides and carb everything looked great i have changed the plugs a couple of times to what it liked as far as the stock ,hot ,or ridium and yeah i have the stock intakes and lid on it but the crazy thing is i just picked up a 92 shee last week that needed rebuilt for 400 and got it running before i tore it down and its doing the same crap Quote
AKheathen Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) "high test fuel"? what's that? reading this, first thing that comes to mind, is igniting in the exhaust. could be caused by running the wrong fuel or misfire, but since it's more than one bike, i'd suspect the fuel. you should only run 93 octane on stock timing and compression.
