225GUY Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 I just installed my 450 A Arms with extended tie rods and a set of 450 SE Shocks all from 2003LB last night. Overall Im very happy with the look and width, but it does lower it quite a bit. Is it possible to turn down those big nuts on top to raise the ride height? Will it affect the ride stiffness? Quote
madjimmax Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 What spindles did you use banshee or 450? If you used a 450 spindle with 450r shocks you would of been good, But I believe 450se shocks are shorter then the 450r shocks, Now if you used Banshee spindles you lost about 2 inches from the get go i think and that could be fixed with 450 spindles. And you might want to check shock length with an all 450 setup including spindles you would want a shock about 18.25 inches eye to eye. Quote
Darthwall Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 turn those big nuts all the way down it will raise it a couple inches and then start playing with your dampeners I think what I did was turn the botton one like 4 full rotations or more not sure towards the negative side and this will soften up the ride quite a bit Quote
225GUY Posted May 15, 2009 Author Report Posted May 15, 2009 So i can turn those large nuts on the top all the way down to raise the ride height, but then readjust the preload on the knobs for stiffness? Quote
Darthwall Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 ya when you move those nuts its gunna make it alot stiffer so just play around with the nobs or screws until it feels the way you want it to there is one on the top of the rez and one on the bottom of the shock it should be facing in towards Quote
