Myself and some friends were riding our quads and all of a sudden my banshee went dead. It would not start from kicking it off but it would push start. i figured it was just the plugs but it also kind of bogged down when it started. Could it be the jets in my carbs?

might have something to do with your compression. try pouring 60w oil into the cylinders and see if it will kick over. if it does its your rings

Does it have gas in it? lol. Check to make sure gas is getting to the carbs. Check the spark to the plugs. Don't pour motor oil in the cylinders.

well i just figure he check his gas and plugs and spark already. had the same problem with my kx500 but the kick felt kinda light poured some oil in there to get it started. gear oil will work better tho

strait premix oil works 100x better on a cool engine, sitcks around on the pistons for almost 1/2 minute running, and if that isn't the problem, you don't have to worry about shit gumming up.

Yes it has gas. Brand new rebuilt motor. 4 mill crank, port and polished cyliders, shaved head, timing plate, v-force reeds, shearer inframe drag pipes, 34mm carbs and almost everything you can do to a banshee to ride on the the street and not just for drag racing. i know my jetting wasnt all the way ready for racing but was waiting on my other needles to come in but was still able to ride. Pretty fast considering everything isnt in place yet. Also it revved up alot in 3rd and 4th gear. Hoping its just my clutches slipping or burnt up. Hopefully thats all it is

You didn't rejet for the new motor? What jets are in the carbs now? Hope you didn't run it lean. Doesn't take long to pop a motor, if it's running lean. What port job do you have, and who did it? Off subject, but you don't get your cylinders polished.

Sorry bout that. I think 145 or 150. Had 155 in it but was getting to much gas and bogging real bad. Dont really know what the secondary jets are (tha smaller jets). Push starting it crunk up fine so i dont think i blew the motor. Would the clutches cause my mid range to rev like that? Midway through first it kicks in and second is a killer but third and fourth it doesnt really pull as hard. Pulls a little but mainly revs up

clutch is smoked, and it's probably lean on the bottom. kicking in halfway throug first is probably a lean hesitation. clean your carbs out, and concentrate on the pilot jets/passages.

Got that taken care of and found out my stator was bad (the wires came aloose and it wasnt getting any fire) bought a new stator, 1 problem solved. Ran into another. Found out the push rod through my tranny was seized up and/or seized to the bearing. Tryna think of a way to get it out without splitting the cases again (already split it twice and tryna think of any way not to do it again). Any ideas need some help.
