AKheathen Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 i just need the heim joints and adapters for the spindles. where do i look? Quote
shanYE west Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Last time I looked.. the spindles dont use heims. Quote
2001Stroker Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Are you talking about the ball joints? They're pressed in, and you can't buy new ones. You have to buy either new a-arms, aftermarket a-arms with removable ball joints, or modify the stock a-arms. Quote
AKheathen Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 there's no aftermarket arms that uses heims on the spindles? i'm building arms, but i don't know what size adapter the s;pindles use before i start. i just want to have them built, or at least have all the parts before i rip it apart. shanYE west Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 adapter for the spindles??? you mean a reamer? some after market arms require you to ream the spindles.. never heard of a adpater though... Maybe I'm just misunderstanding somthing here.... Some company's use heims on their arms.. some use ball joints.. depends on the company. Quote
AKheathen Posted May 11, 2009 Author Report Posted May 11, 2009 damn, in automotive, i've used adapters that are tapered on one end, and strait on the other, so you can bolt them where the ball joint coes into the spindle, and slide the heim over the other end. lemmie see if i can get a pic. Quote
2001Stroker Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 I see what you're saying now. Just get regular heims that look like a balljoint. Use 1/2" heims, and drill the spindles to fit them. Quote
AKheathen Posted May 12, 2009 Author Report Posted May 12, 2009 yah, but i'm not having great luck on fleabay. how much the joints and nick-nacks run, and where? thx. Quote
2001Stroker Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I don't know how much exactly they cost. I bought 3/4" heims with grease fittings, for a 4-Link suspension, and they were only $12/each. I got those at a local bearing warehouse. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Summit racing will have them. Also look around rock crawling shops, performance shops or desert racing shops. Quote
zachass9 Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 www.jegs.com They have all sizes, between $6 and $25 each. Quote
