rickdog Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I was riding and my banshee and it turned off. I took the right side spark plug off and it was melted at the bottom L. Now banshee will not idle. Can someone tell me what is wrong? Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 get a pick of the plug i wana see what it loks like. and my friends civic did that the other day 2 and he had some of those good ones the e-3's. Quote
rubberneck Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Melted spark plug would probably indicate a lean condition. Did you recently modify the bike. I.E. pipes intake or anything like that? If so did you rejet? If you made no modifications and it did this all of a sudden, you most likely developed an air leak. If the plug melted, you more than likely took out the piston as well. Quote

J-Madd Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 You can have severe damage and the engine will sometimes still run, but not well. I've rode mine from the track back to the pits 3 times with a burned plug strap. Started first kick. Probably an air leak, as mentioned. Take off the head and look for piston and dome damage; and possibly cylinder damage. Unfortunately, that's what you're likely to find. Quote

RagunCajun Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 You can only answer that. You need to inspect the internals and see what if anything is damaged. Get wrenching buddy! Quote
