Starting-Idle Issues

Recommended Posts

Traded for a 2000 banshee with toomey pipes, boost bottle, power reeds, motion pro twist throttle to my knowledge rest is stock. Problem is its so hard to kick start most of time it won't start. When started it won't hold idle without shutting off. Friend said recent owners took something out so it won't idle? Think they used it for racing. Information on how to fix?

when you say its hard to kick start...is the kickstarter loose...or is it really tight??....and i would try takin the carbs off and cleaning them out real good that always helps things

It's loose dosen't feel like there's much compression. But after it's run for awhile you can get it to start the first kick, but if you don't get it the first time it won't start.

it could be one of two thing and may fix both at one time...carb's aren't in sync. or might not be enough spark check the gap on the stator..

will try. When started you have to keep it reved up or it will shut off as soon as you let off throttle. Something was took out to make it do this. Will this cause it to be hard to start?
