SLORYDER Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Hey on the stator side the pin that the rod atraches to has backed out of the crank about 1mm... Can I just tap it back in with say a hammer handle? Should just slide straight back in right? There's no play(I can't twist it by hand) I think it just backed out from rough handling shipping... shanYE west Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 it needs to be trued and welded.. I wouldn't trust it. Quote
sleeper06 Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Def dont put that in,if it moved from rough shipping imagine some HP Quote
rockenrail Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Def dont put that in,if it moved from rough shipping imagine some HP X2 no way that will still be true after you pound it back in, at the very least you would need to press it back in and check the linear dimentions and true it in. Of coarse having it welded is probably in your best interest also. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 it needs to be trued and welded.. I wouldn't trust it. Agreed. If it backedout because "rough handling" think of what it will do at 9k rpm. Just my .02 Quote
AKheathen Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 woah, if it backed out, then it's definately not useable. not even sure if welding would hold up. i would send it back, and get another. rule of thumb is, rebuild 2x, and this is why Quote
deckheight Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Where is that crank shipping from, exactly. Quote
