sledneck696 Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Ever since I got this Banshee (last month) i havent got it to work right. It was low on compression so I had the Top end rebuilt bored 30 over with wiseco pro-lites. The bike Has FMF pipes, Im pretty sure the reeds in it are Boyeson's, boost bottle, as for carbs the main is 250, pilot 25,clip is in 3rd groove. Now for problems. Im still breaking it back in but I still notice the same problems already. Around little fields and yards where you only have enough room to get into 4th gear it works great. When I get beyond that in 5th or 6th its boggy like no power......and then quite often if I get it rippin and goto slow down the bike wont idle down it sits there and revs real high I have even had to shut it off a few times just to get the rpms to come down. Any ideas guys its really starting to piss me off Quote

Any ideas guys its really starting to piss me off Have you looked at your plugs lately. You've just described a couple classic lean characteristics. It could be other things as well, but jetting is my first suspicion. You didn't mention your airbox/filter setup, which is needed to get a better idea on your jetting. Even with a box I would guess you are a size or two lean. Also, which FMF pipes? I'd check your jetting before ripping it again, otherwise you may be moving up another piston size. Since you've had it apart, I should mention that an airleak could also be the source of your lean condition; good probability there too. Quote
Loc Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 I would check your jetting first. I had a bike that had the same problem and I needed to rebuild my carbs. Check into that and see what happens. Quote
sledneck696 Posted May 4, 2009 Author Report Posted May 4, 2009 When I did check the plugs there were okay brownish, Im not sure how to tell which series of pipes they say Gold Series FMF, Im pretyt sure if i remeber right the filter is a durablue??it was jsut cleaned and oiled as well any ideas on which jets I should be running?? Could having the carbs synced help? Quote
Rodneya Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 When I ran un-ported juggs with FMF fatty's and a K&N I had 300 mains and 27.5 pilots at sea level. Quote
sledneck696 Posted May 4, 2009 Author Report Posted May 4, 2009 bump anyone else have any input?? Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 i have a pretty similar setup bump the main up to a 260 possible air leak Quote
sledneck696 Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 Im leaning towards thinking its an air leak as well. Hopefully not crank seals. Also The bike has reed spacers, what is the purpose of these? And The filter is a durablue cone foam one, still inside the airbox with the lid on. Quote
