DannysZ28 Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 The Honda 450r has a 500 big bore with a 3 mil stroker crank, full exhaust, edelbrock carb, 208 cam, 12.5 to 1 pistons and ported and polished. What kind of power do you think he is making? I have a 4 mil stroker, .060 over wiseco pistons, fatty pipes, +4 timing, ported and polished. The porting was done by previous owner. This was not his first time but he does not do it professionally. Im running stock carbs and compression is about 140-145 with 15-41 gearing. Quote

BIGGER CARBS!!!! and maybe get your porting done by a professinal. change your domes and throw in some race fuel. and maybe change your gearing Quote

Really depends on who did your portwork. Quote
DannysZ28 Posted April 10, 2009 Author Report Posted April 10, 2009 What kind and size carbs would you go with? Quote
DannysZ28 Posted April 10, 2009 Author Report Posted April 10, 2009 The guy i got it from said it used to have 34 keihins on it with everything listed above except timing advance. With street tires, lowered with struts and a wheelie bar. He said it would run 7.30 in the 1/8. Does this sound right. He did give me the wheelie bar with it. Quote
278 Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Some PWK 33's would do well on it, see about getting the porting re-worked by a pro, smaller domes with race gas, make sure your pipes are for what type of riding your doing and some type of aftermarket reeds or ported cages and after market petals Quote

I would think it should have run faster than that. On my stock port, stock swingarm (way too SHORT) and with my knobbies, I turned low 7.70's high 7.60's in the 1/8th. I'm running a decent amount more compression, but that port work is going to be a big unknown. Did he give you specs on the port work? Quote
tapout94 Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) the biggest signiture!!! ^ call up Nate Mccoy, or Brandon over at wildcard, get your cylinders ported correctly! scrap the fattys and get some pipes that will pull a higher RPM(CPI, SHEARER). get some new carbs 33-35mm. change your timing from +4 to +7 and change your front sprocket back to stock. if you really want to beat that 450, throw in an override tranny...
