So i ride mostly trails, hills climbs and open fields. Glamis once a year or so.

I heard some things about this in another discussion on the HQ.

I need some more info, since im really not familiar with this at all.

Would this be good for my type of riding?

What are the pros and cons with this setup?

My bike is prob going to be in the 75hp range.

Thanks

definitly go for it! You wont regret it. My cousin does basically the same riding you just explained and he has the 1-5 duneable with a lockout and its nice to ride, i love it. You will never want to have a stock tranny again.

Does that mean you loose 6th gear?

I heard they are tempermental, will the bike shift and deliver smoother?

What is the difference from a regular tranny?

Dude sorry to get off topic in your thread but why is the toe out so high on your bike? Does that help with anything? Just curious.

The whole bike was put back together a few days before the trip to glamis, Pic was took in glamis, I believe the first day.

I adjusted the toe when i got there. They where way out. Think i was fucked up the garage when i put it back together.

Back on track here, Some more info on the topic would be appreciated.

thanks

I just finished installing my lockout today. Lockout, bigger side cover, new springs and plates. It spins the wheels on the road thru 4th on brand new holeshots if you want it to. Very impressed with the feel of it. I do mostly trail riding and the occasional race. shifts seem to be the same as stock, very easy to use, I was worried that it would be too stiff or something. 421 Cub, CPI's, 35 mm's 6" swinger.

Oh so it doesnt do anything positive for the bike? But back on topic is the dunable overide the same as the neutral down mod?

My friend just got a dunable 1to5 with M-6th with N-down. from WCR. Wish they were making them When I had got mine cut...

Even if you do get a duneable override it will eat shift forks sooner or later. I just put new forkes in mine. They were not to bad but at the same time not the best anymore. The shift forks went in looking brand new and had only been used a cupple trips...

ive had my duneable 2-4 for 3 years now. never an issue. ive upshifted and downshifted mine with no clutch at high speeds. if properly built, i dont know they they would cause wear and tear.

at the time i got mine, they were still fairly new, which is why mine is only 2-4. i wish it was 2-5, but at the hillclimbs i usually dont get out of 2nd, and will sometimes hit 3rd.

You can do a tranny mod with no lock-up if you want, thats what im doing,1-5 is off the shelf stuff.I just got 1-4,5th-6th clutch, bearing mod on drum, new forks.Do you need a lock-up, how much Hp are you looking to toss at it.B4 you spend money on covers and lockouts therte is stuff inside motor that will benifit you more, straight cuts, overide, shift shaft mod, star.I have sick Hp to wheels, in a pm ill tellyou how much to many people wanna race.I use a F.A.S.T clutch on asphault with no probs

i just installed a 1-5 N down dunable with lockout in my cub bike (392).. i have rode it very little, but it shifts like a dream.. it is like the tranny is anxiously waiting to upshift.. all it takes is a little nudge of the shifter and you are in the next gear.. its like being in a automatic car that has a shift kit.. i hope mine takes it easy on the forks though.. haven't rode it enough yet.. time will tell i guess.. i got mine from HJR.

like loco said if the tranny is setup correctly you shouldnt have a problem with the forks. my cousins and brother have been runnin WCR duneables for over a year now with no problem what so ever. Ive ran WCR 1-6 standard override that is currently holding up very well for me now for almost 3 years.

And yes about your question earlier that means you lose 6th gear. atleast on the 1-5 duneable, and i would also recommend getting the nuetral down option.

now for the 1-5 duneable and manual 6th from WCR unless it has changed if you get in 6th gear you MUST come to a complete stop to downshift or it will blow up, any gear other than 6th you can ride it like a stock one. This is what my bro has. Just pay attention and you will be fine. Greg is a great guy and will stand behind his work.
