I am looking for the bolt that goes threw your carrier and attaches it to your swingarm i bought a swingarm and only got one of the carrier bolts. i think it is like 6 in long or something like that. Anyone know where i can buy one? Quote

Mustang78 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 i would try all your local hardware and fastener stores too(fastenal), then all the bike shops just in case.. you might want to measure the exact length and size if possible, write it down.. and bring in the nut if you can find it. Also look for the hardest bolt grade you can, grade 8 would be best but grade 5 will probably work just fine Quote
DallasGDub Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 I broke the lower carrier bolt while putting a swinger on. I just used a standard size bolt from Lowes. I took the bolt with me and got one that was as close as possible to same diameter. It was in the "specialty bolt" section. It was gold. Works just fine for me, and I beat the shit out of it. Quote

tidos76 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 dont go pay 20-30 bones for that bolt. i got one fre ace hardware for like $2. i'm not sure the exact size. just get a bolt that's not too loose and get a lock nut to fit. Quote

lokisbuddy Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Bear in mind that when you get the bolt use some red locktite on the nut I had the one on my kx and it kept coming off, I did that and bingo problem solved, get grade 8. (Just ask for automotive grade fastener) Quote
