Ok I have my carbs off and set my float, cleaned out my needle seats (including pulling a chunk of old hose from beneath on of them.) and I was looking at my reeds for cracks well I decided to push the kicker over to see if it leaked air as I read somewhere that it isnt supposed to? Well it was bubbling air through the reeds to the point where if i kick it over you can feel it on your hand. What does this mean exactly? Are my reeds bad or worn or do I need new rings? Just trying to figure out the back firing issue I was having today.

God damn I am glad to hear that bro I was expecting ten people to chime in and tell me I needed new rings or something. ( I don't think I do though lol it usually starts first or second kick after sitting out in the cold all night.)

Nothing to worry about man. I have a brand new set of V-Force3 reeds, still in the box, sitting in my kitchen. Even those have a little gap between the cages and pedals. As fast as those things flap open and shut, it ain't a problem. As long as it ain't a huge gap, don't worry about it.

If you put it back together leave air box off,run the bike, you said it was popping or something rite, see if its popping back through carb . If so You might have some issues in there

I don't run an airbox bro, I have pods. But it was backfiring through the pipes. Also if I do replace my reeds would it hurt if I just picked up a 150 dollar set of VF3's off ebay rather than just buying the reed petals for 80 bucks?
